The Civil War.

 

Dr. William H. Forward, appointed asst.-surg. U. S. army June, 1861; pro. to surg. 6th U. S. Cav. October, 1863, he was severely wounded in the breast, and after the ball was extracted little hopes were entertained of his recovery. After a protracted illness he was enabled to rejoin his command, and is still in the army.

Dr. Passmore Middleton, of Darby, appointed surgeon in regular army, 1863.
